THE RELIC | DRAGON WILL BE PREMIERING at FILMQUEST!!!
WE HAVE A FESTIVAL PREMIERE!
Writer/director J.M. Logan in 2021 with THE RELIC short film.
FilmQuest is one of the most respected genre film festivals in the world, and has been designated year after year as one of MovieMaker's Top 50 festivals Worth The Entry Fee, one of Coolest Festivals in the World, and one of the top 100 festivals on FilmFreeway.
This is the audience we made our movie for, one of our personal favorites, we are one of 20 selected out of more than 450 submissions (3000 total submissions this year!), so we are extremely honored to be premiering at FilmQuest!

Director's Note
FilmQuest is one of my favorite film festivals on planet Earth, and I've been to lots of them. Their respect for their filmmakers is extraordinary, everyone is treated incredibly well, they plan lots of industry development panels to keep everyone busy and engaged, bring in inspiring guests, and their commitment to showcasing only the VERY BEST genre content every year is unparalleled.
Landing a premiere at FilmQuest for a movie we've worked so hard on for the last 3 years in the most competitive year yet is incredibly gratifying!
Our tireless post production team continues to grind to make sure the movie looks and sounds as good as anything Hollywood puts out. I can't wait for everyone to see the fruits of their labor!
We are also continuing to investigate alternative distribution methods to the conventional standards. As 2026 continues to unfold, we've seen an explosion of new ideas being floated by independent filmmakers -- because that's what independent filmmakers do: we figure it out.
Making a movie is always an extraordinary challenge at any budget level -- the less money you have the more creative you have to get -- and this is an exponential equation.
If we as filmmakers are crafty enough to find ourselves with a finished film, extending that creativity into distribution using the many tools at our fingertips in 2026 is a natural step. We're seeing it everywhere, and it's never been more empowering!
I'll keep you all up to date as we continue to blaze a path into this exciting new world.
